The IncludEd Story
IncludEd was born from a place of deep conviction and compassion.
After many years working across both mainstream and specialist education settings, I found myself as a Deputy Headteacher in a role that increasingly asked me to compromise what I knew was right for vulnerable learners—to prioritise the interests of "the company" over the needs of the child. That was a line I could not cross.
As a qualified SEND specialist, I had spent years not only teaching but also leading training for other staff, shaping inclusive practices, and advocating for children who often fall through the cracks. I’ve also walked this path personally—as a neurodivergent individual, a parent to a neurodivergent son, and someone who has experienced first-hand the realities and responsibilities of home education when I chose to home educate my step-son.
I stepped away from leadership not because I had lost faith in education—but because I believed so deeply in what education could and should be.
And so, I founded IncludEd—on my own—determined to offer something different. A specialist, one-to-one education service that puts learners first. From the beginning, IncludEd has offered bespoke, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming education for children and young people who are educated outside of mainstream school, including those under EOTAS and those who are home educated. Every package is completely personalised, built on a foundation of trust, flexibility, and genuine respect for the learner’s needs, interests, and voice.

As word spread, something extraordinary happened. The demand for IncludEd’s approach began to grow—not only from new families reaching out but from current learners asking for more time with us each week. In response to this exciting new chapter, I have carefully grown the team by inviting two exceptional educators to join us: David, a trusted colleague I’ve worked with in the past who shares my values and deep commitment to inclusive education; and Fiona, the educator I personally chose to work with my own AuDHD child—because when it comes to children, especially neurodivergent children, I only trust the very best.
Together, we form a close-knit, professional team with lived experience, extensive training, and unwavering integrity. We bring a deep understanding of trauma, neurodivergence, and child-led learning. We are proud to be doing education differently—meeting children where they are, and walking with them towards where they want to go.
IncludEd is more than a service. It’s a stand for what education can be when we prioritise relationships, build trust, and meet learners exactly where they are.
